Ranking among the top nations in terms of women empowerment, the Philippines has a global reputation for gender inclusivity. Similarly, one look at the local media landscape reveals how prominently LGBTQIA+ personalities are featured in Filipino entertainment. It must stand to reason then that the Philippines is a universally inclusive society. Or does it?

In pushing for an inclusive Philippines, the Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce marks another milestone by continuing a conversation we started in 2016: the need to amplify LGBT+ voices in an election season through the LGBTVote PH initiative. This program aims to address that disconnect between our aspirations as people of diverse SOGIE and the pervasive socio-economic disparities that continuously hinder our growth. Gaps must be narrowed and our political candidates must clearly engage us in this conversation.

Preparing the LGBT+ Community for 2022 Elections:Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce announced as official LGBT+ organization partner of voters’ education campaign “Vote Pilipinas”

Since 2016, PLCC has been supporting responsible citizenship by encouraging the
public to register and exercise their right to universal suffrage. During the last
presidential elections, PLCC mounted its very first project, “#LGBTVotePH”, which
assessed the presidential candidates’ stance on LGBT+ issues.
